Grandview Christmas Tree on Main Street
Check out our Grandview Christmas Tree on Main Street. This year the city of Grandview created #mainstreetmerry. For $50, you are assigned an outdoor tree & location for a 5 foot tall on Main Street. Our tree was placed right outside the our store at 613 Main Street.
Our first challenge was a theme for our tree. We wanted it to tie into our business of reusing items. We decided to upcycle office products for our tree decoration. The LED lights came from Habitat from Humanity Restore in Martin City. They were $5 a box & perfect for our tree.
For the rest of the items, we made a trip to Scraps KC. Scraps KC is full of recycled office products. On this trip, we purchased paper clips, random keys, push pins, red ink pens, paint, a Frosty Hat, lights for our Frosts Hat, pens, & fancy Santa hats for my helpers.
With a the help of a team of 5 & 6 year olds, we created our ornaments, ate chocolate chip cookies, & made memories!
For our outside sign, we were able to test the scrap repurposed materials we saved from a trailer manufacturer. Our regular collaborator & mixed wood furniture expert made us a stand for our sign. We had a static cling made for our sign & were on our way! This sign can be repurposed over and over by switching the cling. You can watch our video on how to apply a cling.
Come check out Downtown Grandview & Enjoy the Parade for Christmas Trees. There is something for everyone!
